On behalf of the Fédération Française de Voile (French Sailing Association), these photos are of Sarah Steyaert (FRA) who this week won the Laser Radial World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.






BMW Oracle Racing announced new members of their sailing theam this week, which include (from left) Russell Coutts, John Kostecki, and James Spithill. Taking a page from the "Dennis Conner Catamaran America's Cup Team Playbook", CEO Coutts has gathered his monohull pals to tackle their multihull campaign. New England Boatworks in Portsmouth, R.I. are in the midst of their build of a Reichel/Pugh 69-footer for Hap Fauth. As of last week, this boat – which is using prepreg carbon fibre over a nomex and core cell - was progressing on schedule. With more than twenty full time technicians working six days a week, the goal is to launch in advance of, and participate in the 2008 Newport-Bermuda Race. Photographer Max Ranchi provides photos of a new 12 meter one design that is actually 12 meters long. Designed by Marco Lostuzzi, the project manager was Thomas Gozdecky, who also helped Russell Coutts with his RC44 project. Sexy!
