Sam Davies is undergoing final preparations for the November 9th start of the Vendée Globe. She is one of two female sailors in this non-stop solo around the world race, and has embraced the look of her sponsor Roxy in her boat branding.  Last Saturday, Mark Denzer finished the first leg of his ‘round-the-island trip by El Toro’ to benefit the National Parkinson Foundation and commemorate his Dad, Jim Denzer (Honolulu to Kaneohe: 11.5 hours). A forecast of zero wind and moderate surf required that he put in at Kaneohe and wait for safer conditions. Click here to donate. In 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue, and now you can visit a replica of the ship he sailed at the Santa Cruz harbor.
