From the Women's International Keelboat Championship held at the St Maarten Yacht Club in the Caribbean. Here we find Team VooDoo Doll from Southern California seeking some local knowledge. Team VooDoo Doll includes Kim Stuart, Jessamine Lewis, Robin Stout, and Karen Campbell - sponsored by North Sails.  The photo shows former World Optimist Champion Chris Steele and former Optimist National Champion Logan Dunning-Beck, trying to play it cool while they train in Auckland, New Zealand amid the surfacing Orca whale. -- Kevin Whitehead, Sail World  Big 25 knot cold Northerly wind on Sydney Harbour and outgoing tide provided extreme conditions for 18-foot skiff training, and even more extreme photography for Andrew Palfrey. Frenchman Thomas Coville and his 105-foot maxi-trimaran Sodeb’O set off this week to establish a new solo round the world record, and will need to pass the Petit Minou lighthouse at the entrance to Brest harbour in France by January 15, 2009 at 03 hours, 27 minutes and 20 seconds GMT to break Francis Joyon's current mark of of 57 days, 13 hours, 34 minutes and 6 seconds.
