From Kristan McClintock, Hall Spars & Rigging: "We shipped three Wally masts on the same truck – yikes. The longest mast is for the Wally 130, at 176-foot. It’s in two pieces on the truck. The long mast on top is the 148-foot mast for a Wally 101, and the other is 121-foot for a Wally 80." Click photo to enlarge.

From Becky DaMore/Sail22.com: "We are down in Tobago for the Tobago Carnival Regatta. It's a great event with awesome breeze (25 knots) and great parties. Click here for additional photos. There is a one design class with M32 builder Paul Amon leading the fleet. There is also handicapped racing, Bum Boat racing (local boats), windsurfing and a kite boarding competition as well. It's definitely the "Festival of Wind" that they bill it as!" Got to love the beach launch of a Melges 24.

This photo from February 11, 2009 shows how bad the mainsail has deteriorated for Vendee Globe skipper Dee Caffari onboard her Open 60. At this time, she was just over 1,000 miles from the finish.

Photog Rick Tomlinson shares some of the action from the Volvo Ocean Race Qingdao In-Port race. After a miserable Leg 4 from Singapore, and prior to the epic 12k+ Leg 5 to Rio, this buoy racing has got to be a treat for these guys. Spot the filming on the foredeck.

The town of Les Sables d’Oloone (FRA) will literally erupt this weekend when Samantha Davies finishes her Vendee Globe race. Her good humoried commentary and photos, combined with her great performance, has made her extremely popular.

Erik Simonson/www.h2oshots.com reminds us that February 14th is Valentine's Day.
