Being a celebrated Laser sailor, and having a gold medalist for a wife, Brad Funk finds his boat to be a popular spot during the 2009 Women's Laser Radial North Americans.  From Clive Bennett: "Here is Ragtime after crossing the finish line on Day two of the Millennium Cup in New Zealand with Thalia in the background. Interesting contrast with both yachts carrying traditional lines, dark hulls and varnish work. Ragtime won Division II."  Don Allen believes the next progression in America's Cup development will be the twist spar and polygon headsail to gain additional sail area. At Scuttlebutt, we believe that coffee is among the essential food groups.   The Volvo Ocean Race start in Qingdao, China of Leg 5 to Rio, which is missing half the fleet due to damage or funding. Top photo shows Telefonica Blue lowering sails after going aground just minutes before the start. After hauling and repairs, T-Blue finally started nearly 19 hours late. The southern hemisphere summer finds the youth in Australia aboard the Manly Junior (MJ), designed in Manly in the early 1960's to stand upright in racks where ceiling height is restricted.
