Ever wonder what the sail plan of a TP 52 looks like from the top of the rig? Here photog Juerg Kaufmann does the climbing for this shot of the Swiss TP52 Team Marazzi Sailing during the first event of the 2009 Audi MedCup circuit in Alicante, Spain.

Anna Tunnicliffe and Brad Funk got a pretty good gig when they were hired to sail the PUMA Moths around Boston Harbor during the Volvo Ocean Race stopover. Nearly as cool as the juggling uni-cyclist or the U2 cover band. Photos by Sally Collison

A Twitter photo sent in by John Sangmeister, restauanteur of Gladstones in Long Beach, noting the first Transpac arrival in Rainbow Harbor of Alfa Romeo, the Reichel-Pugh designed 30 meter ocean racer that is eager to do some record busting in the July race.

From Richard Karran: "The Morgan Invasion held earlier in May was hosted by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club at their Pass-A-Grill location on the Gulf of Mexico. It is an annual gathering of Charlie Morgan’s designs and builds. I think this was the 24th year of the event. It is primarily for fun and comraderie, with a Saturday race and banquet with Charlie Morgan as the guest of honor. Here is Charlie Morgan (right) below deck on the Ceol Na Mara a 1972 Morgan 35’ yawl, with the owner, Jack Manwaring, following the banquet."

When Volvo Ocean Race skipper Torben Grael handed the helm of Ericsson 4 over to Scuttlebutt's Craig Leweck following the practice race in Boston, there would be no further sharing as journos (from left) James Boyd (The Daily Sail) and Stuart Streuli (Sailing World) would soon learn. This sequence catches Chris Museler hard at work on projects for Outside Magazine and the New York Times, making his exit from Ericsson 4 after the start of Leg 7 of the Volvo last Saturday as the boats were heading out into Mass. Bay. Chris gives Gary Jobson journalistic credit for the move, which Gary performed when he covered the Whitbread start in Ft. Lauderdale years ago.
