The Photoboat.com team of Allen Clark and Daniela Coen Clark after they formalized their partnership earlier in July.   The 2,225-mile Transpac race from Los Angeles to Honolulu has three seperate start days for the various sized divisions in hopes that it keeps the finishes tight. The race clearly got it right here when the 1D35 Relentless finished just 20 seconds ahead of the TP52 Samba Pa Ti despite starting six days earlier. John Kilroy Jr and his SPT team were the overall winners of the race. Photos by Phil Uhl.  Gordon Brown had a life's dream to build a boat and travel the world. Five years ago he brought home the empty hull of a 45-foot Roberts design sloop. Building this boat out of pocket was a large task for shallow pockets, slowed further when he was interrupted with a bout with cancer.The boat will now go in the water in approximately 2 weeks, and he plans to be guiding a fleet of boats carrying cancer survivors on a circumnavigation. From left to right, here are the 131-foot Banque Populair V, 105-foot Groupama, and 105-foot Sodebo, all ready to seek speed records in a northern transatlantic crossing from New York to England.
