Known as the Klub 44, designer Tim Kernan’s new 44-foot purpose-designed ‘beer-can racer’ went from post-race musing to build to a potential new one design fleet in a matter of a few monthes. Photo by Erik Simonson  The Techno 293 North American Championship this week in San Francisco, CA.  John Spadaro’s Bashford 41 Boomerang won the 2009 Waikiki Offshore Series for a second year in a row. The regatta was sailed in seven races over three days off the south shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The 2009 29er World Championship was held on Lake Garda in Northern Italy, where the 186 teams in attendance represented the largest 29er Worlds in the classes 10 year history. The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy will be the venue for the sailing competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. These photos show the facilities inspected by Her Majesty The Queen and an aerial of the newly expanded layout.
