For those that cringe at youth sailing in four cornered prams, the World O'Pen Cup in Martinique shows that options do exist.
Here is a test... if you were a photographer, which of these two boats would you rather photograph? (Answer: the pros would pick the red boat. And here is the big tip, what they shoot is what gets published.)
We are not sure exactly where Scuttlebutt editor Craig Leweck was aiming his camera on the day he rode along on Vincenzo Onorato's RC44, and we may never know. Apparently the memory card is now missing, but not before he got a few of the clips posted online. Click here to view.
A new Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest Parade of Boats’ was set by the International Optimist Class Association within the waters of Weymouth and Portland, venue for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing events, featuring 318 Optimist sailors aged between 7 and 15 years.
