Another Guinness world record-breaking regatta will be held on Lake Garda (Italy) during Easter week, 21st - 24th April, with the 29th edition of the Garda Optimist Meeting. This single-class regatta, the “busiest” on the planet, attracts around 1000 young helmsmen every year from all over the world (30 countries).
Southern California used to be the hub for production keelboat manufacturing, but Schock boats is the only remaining player that still puts out some volume. And they're latest model, the Harbor 30, is soon to be released. These photos show the intereior under construction for hull #1.

Tony Smith sent us this photo of his grandfather's classic 12 meter Miquette, Wm Fife built and designed (~ circa 1934). Makes you wonder if there is a story behind the bow detail.
