Local Austin sailor Ryan Harden won the 2011 J/24 Texas State Championship with an impressive display of sailing, never crossing the finish line outside of the top two over the six race series. Click here for full report.




The US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics (USSTAG) and the US Sailing Development Team (USSDT) were put through the paces of physical fitness testing in Colorado Springs, Colo. March 17-20 at the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) official Olympic Training Center. The annual camps are required for members of the sailing teams and gauge all athletes’ preparedness for the upcoming European season. Click here for full report.

Beginning Saturday, Australia's Hamilton Island will host the SAP 2011 505 World Championship. Eighty-five boats representing Australia, Germany, Great Britain, the USA, France, Denmark, Hong Kong and Sweden are expected. Click here for event website.

The two big open match race events in the US are the Congressional Cup going on this week in Long Beach, CA and the Argo Group Gold Cup in Bermuda on October 4-9. Here is a photo from Bermuda last year by Charles Anderson.
