There will be a historic Herreshoff celebration in Castine, Maine on August 3-4. The event will bring together, for the first time in 75 years, early-20th-century yachts of the famed NY-30, NY-40, and NY-50 classes designed by Nathanael G. Herreshoff for the New York Yacht Club. Highlighted was how Laura Dekker, who is seeking to be the youngest person to sail around the world, took a MiniCat for a sail during a break in the Caribbean. And to think the Dutch government wanted to stop her from taking on this dangerous adventure.
