I am sure I was wearing big shoulder pads in those days too." - Sharon Green, photographer  Now that the Men's Keelboat sailing event has been removed for the 2016 Olympics, the question is whether it can ever return for future Games. And if it might, would it have to use a boat with modern characteristics than the Star. There is a short list of modern boats that have international status, are relatively affordable, provide top competition, and can pull big numbers. The San Diego Yacht Club Lehman 12 fleet left the cozy confines of their five star facility for a rustic trip east to the mountains for their annual Cow Patty Cup in Corte Madera, CA.
