This is for all the tree hugging, ocean saving, washable bottle activists. Just kidding... we don't think this will ever get approved. Photo from here.

The M Ship Co in San Diego was part of the initial design group that developed canting keels. Here they demonstrate their new fangled cost effective approach to testing scaled-down hull models.

Just your average 40-foot boat being trailered to its next event. Maybe they should package the new Farr 400 with a tow vehicle option.

Maybe it's because we are in California where boats are either trucked across the U.S. or piloted south to the Panama Canal. We just never see ships like this, and we think they are cool.

Americans Zach Brown and Fred Strammer, shown here on their 49er in San Francisco, have their sights set on the 2016 Olympics. Photo by Brian Vanderspek.

This week's 'go fast accessory' comes from Tom Selldorff: "Our Baltic 52 'Kinship' has a gasoline-driven blender, great for making daiquiris on long downwind legs. Pictures taken on Narragansett Bay."

"This photo was taken 10/15/11 - a team of top fundraisers for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society - during the annual sail off - this year it was on the Hudson River in 25+kts. How appropriate for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 disaster, to still be free and sailing Colgate 26s in front of the Statue of Liberty." - RJ Lewy.

This is sooooo how sailboat racing should be with the driver's name listed on the side. There have just been too many years of not knowing who to curse at. Photo by Doug Smith.

The new Panasonic-sponsored LUMIX skiff (Jonathan Whitty, Greg Dixon, James Hozac) tripping on a gybe during an Australian 18 Footers League race. Photos by Frank Quealey.
