The Santa Barbara Sailing Club Goblin Regatta hosted 55 boats which included Dr. Laura Schlessinger and her fully costumed J100 crew. This puts a new meaning to the term "deck Ape". David Raison won the singlehanded Transat 6,50 on his innovative boat TeamWork Evolution. David’s boat, with her strange looking round nose, has proved to be excellent on this difficult course, and especially when sailing between 60 and 90 degrees from the true wind, where she was simply unbeatable, achieving speeds up to one knot superior to her opponents.  The 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race had its first In-Port race last weekend, and the six boat fleet will begin the first leg from Alicante, Spain to Cape Town, South Africa on November 5th. Aegir is an 82-foot cruiser racer by Rogers Yacht Design which was a recent award winner at the Annual 2011 ISS Awards for Design and Leadership Gala Dinner held at the Marriott Harbour Beach Resort in Ft Lauderdale.
