Mirabaud LX, the 2008 Swiss experimental foiler owned by Thomas Jundt has a new and improved 24m2 wing mast for the 2012 Lake Geneva season.

From William Tuthill: What better way to describe spring in Newport? Flowering trees, lobster traps and mega yachts all in the same photo? A stone's throw away lie clusters of houses built before the USA was even a nation. With the Newport-Bermuda Race, America's Cup World Series, Tall Ships, the Farr 40 World Championships and so many other regattas, Newport is going to be one very busy place this summer!

The Lowell North Dock Dedication was last weekend at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA. Lowell is shown here with Terry Kohler, the current owner of North Sails. Photo by Isao Toyama.

The sad story of the Hunter 376 Aegaen, which was destroyed during the 2012 Newport to Ensenada Race. Photos by Bronny Daniels.

Bella Mente from the initial sea trials in Newport, RI. Hull #57 from New England Boatworks was built for experienced offshore sailor Hap Fauth. The Juel/Vrolijk 72 IRC Mini Maxi is preparing for the Newport Bermuda Race in June. Photo by Billy Black.

After 78 years the famous J-Class yacht ‘Rainbow’ sails again. This replica of the America’s Cup winner from 1934 was built by Holland Jachtbouw in Zaandam. She will be taking part in the J-Class races being held in England between June and July. Photo by Marloes van der Haagen.

When you see the America's Cup teams blazing across San Francisco Bay this summer, remember this photo from last weekend taken by Erik Simonson. People say that California doesn't have seasonal weather. You are looking at it, baby.

From Betsy Lawless: We were at the Buffalo Yacht Club for a high school sailing regatta and two members flew in for lunch on their sea planes. I wonder if when they fill out their slip request forms they ask for a dock for their plane or boat.
