From Doug Smith: "Towing home after a very hot and light air Screwpile race. That’s a Tripp 26 ... we won our class and 2nd in fleet getting towed back to Annapolis. Fun place to race but wrong time of year."   Ever since Emirates Team New Zealand were the first America's Cup team to launch an AC72, they were striving to become the first team to also sail an AC72. After waiting over a week for calm conditions to allow for the first sail, here are images of it. Photos by Chris Cameron / ETNZ.  Photographer Leighton O'Connor was at the right place at the right time for this shot, which occurred during the Junior Race Week in Marblehead, MA. British solo sailor Alex Thomson, who is better known for his flashy photos than his offshore accomplishments, may have tilted the balance after smashing the single-handed monohull transatlantic record (for monohulls under 60-feet) by more than 24 hours.
