Photographer Cory Silken provides us with a computer monitor background for the month of October. Click on wide screen or standard screen for your monitor type. Once the image is open, put your cursur over it, right click to open the drop down menu and indicate you want to 'Set as Background'.

Optimists sail far from the dock, often in the ocean. Sabots sail near the dock, often within minutes of a hot lunch. Maybe that's why 11 year old Millie Dorgan is smiling as she sails her Sabot in San Diego, CA. Photo by Matt Grob.

Japan's Takashi Okura lost an early sword fight at the Melges 32 Worlds. Photo by Kimo Worthington.

Good example of “One hand for the boat, one hand for yourself”. Photo by Gilles Martin-Raget.

With San Francisco in the background, here are a couple nameless hooligans seeking a closer look at the foiling trimaran l'Hydroptère. We say if you are doing a 2,000 yard open water swim and want to stop and peek into the escape windows and check out the boat, you have earned the right to do so.

Mauricio Santa Cruz (left) and his team after dominating the 2012 J/24 World Championship. No one can accuse the class of being cheap on perpetuals. Sailing with Mauricio was Daniel Santiago, Alex Saldanha, Sergio Bittencourt, and Alfredo Rovere. Photo by Christopher E. Howell.

Just your average 16 foot dinghy that needs three people and has a house-sized spinnaker. No wonder the Australians dominated the 2012 Olympics. Photo by Frank Quealey, Australian 18 Footers League.
