Britannia, the famous yacht originally owned by King George V, son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, was the most famous racing yacht in the world at the turn of the last century. A replica of this prestigious J Class yacht, K1 Britania, is amid a rebuild at her former home in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.  During the Jean Schenck Memorial (team race) Regatta last weekend at Newport Harbor Yacht Club, competitors gathered for an epic evening of raingutter racing. After 30+ races, it came down to tricked out catamaran versus an old-school monohul. The StFYC powered monohul prevailed in a very competitive finals match. Photo by John Fuller.
