This week at the Etchells Nationals in Australia, Raymond Smith’s St John’s Dance lost control on a wave, broached wildly and snapped the spinnaker pole. Now totally out of control, the spinnaker pulled the yacht down sideways, it filled with water and slowly, painfully slowly, sank to the bottom, leaving just the top half of the mast visible. All three crew emerged unscathed, but the yacht spend the night on the bottom of Cockburn Sound.   Good times at the first ever Oyster World Rally in Fort Charlotte, Antigua. This is what the Omanis can now enjoy with the opening of Mussanah Marina, which the country hopes to use in their initiative to grow recreational sailing.
