Sixth named storm of the eastern Pacific hurricane season

Forecasters at the Central Pacific Hurricane Center says some weakening is expected for Tropical Storm Flossie as it approaches Maui. The storm is set to become a tropical depression when it hits Oahu Monday night. A tropical storm warning was issued Sunday for Oahu and for Kauai on Monday as Tropical Storm Flossie closes in on Hawaii. Big Island and Maui County remain under a tropical storm warning. A tropical storm warning means tropical storm-force winds of 39 to 73 mph are expected within the next 36 hours, while a watch mean 48 hours. Read more.
