Caribbean Dinghy Championships cancelled

Published on September 9th, 2014

The Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA) has cancelled the Caribbean Dinghy Championships (CDC) that were scheduled to be held November 14-16 due to a conflict with the Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC Games) on November 15-30 which a number of Caribbean countries will be participating.

Consideration was given to rescheduling the CDC to dates both before and after the original dates but there are significant conflicts with other previously scheduled events and a suitable date was not found for this year.

The Caribbean Sailing Association is a federation of territories and sailing clubs of the Caribbean to practically promote sailing activities in the entire Caribbean region. The CSA operates in parallel with the world body of sailing which is the International Sailing Federation (ISAF). In each country the ISAF has a “National Member Authority”.

Some of the clubs are themselves National Authorities, some are federations and others are clubs associated to another federation or another national authority depending on the political status of the territory. They all have in common geographical proximity in the Caribbean Region.
