North Atlantic record to the equator

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has confirmed the establishment of a new North Atlantic Intermediate Record set by skipper Yann Guichard (FRA) and his crew on the 40 metre trimaran Spindrift 2 during their attempt at the Jules Verne Trophy. During the descent from their start at the French island Ushant to the Equator (January 16-21, 2019), Guichard set a new elapsed time of 4 days 20 hours 7 minutes and 13 seconds. The previous record of 4d 21h 45m was set by Guichard and Spindrift 2 in November 2015.
