A mix of ice hockey and roller derby

Just back from the 2013 World Ice and Snow Surfing Championship. Here is a nice shot of Kitewing Team Rider Patrick Blom kicking up his heels between heats on the Short Track Slalom [STS] course. For those not aware, STS is the sailing equivalent of an ice hockey ~ roller derby mix. Rules keep it civil, and sailing tactics make it technical. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the sailing world.
