Laser North American Championship – Day 3

Published on July 27th, 2013

Kingston, ONT (July 27, 2013) – Today was the first day of the Final Series of the North American Championships. Trying to beat the weather for the day, all fleets started their day an hour earlier. A great call by the race committee getting good races in and keeping the volunteers and the sailors dry.

The wind was on the lighter side, despite this all fleets were able to complete 3 races. In the 4.7 fleet Macey Mccann from Texas, continues to hold her lead ending the day with 2 first place finishes. Her team mate Parker Hughes sits in second place followed by Bailey Carter from Florida in 3rd place.

On the Laser course the Gold fleet continues to be dominated by the Canadian team. Lee Parkhill continues to lead the fleet. He is followed closely by his team mate David Wright, Canada’s 2012 Olympic team member. Sitting in third place is Greg Clunies and he is followed by Robert Davis another CST member.

In the Laser Silver fleet, Marek Zaleski from Connecticut leads the charge. He is followed by Alexander Burker from Nova Scotia who sits in second place and Scott Collinson from Toronto who is close behind in third place.

Radial results are being updated and will be posted as soon as possible.

The North American Championships wrap up tomorrow afternoon with awards immediately following.
