Strong winds postpone Sunfish Worlds

Published on October 9th, 2013

Lewes, Delaware (October 9, 2013) – Over the first two days of competition in the 2013 Sunfish World Championship, the weather has had the upper hand. Five races were completed Oct. 7 and 8, but racing was postponed today when winds gusted to 40 mph on the Delaware Bay. Current results have Alexander Zimmerman of Lima, Peru, in the lead, but the top three racers are separated by only three points. Paul-Jon Patin of Forest Hills, N.Y., and David Mendelblatt of St. Petersburg, Fla., are tied for second.
