Buckingham wins Star Winter Series opener

Miami, FL (November 24, 2013) – California’s Jim Buckingham remained consistent to win the Schoonmaker Cup (Nov. 23-24), the opening regatta of the 2013/14 Star Winter Series. “Between last year’s Miami events and the San Diego Worlds we’ve really put the time in,” said Buckingham. “I think that’s the biggest difference to our performance out there.”

The competitors’ positions for this regatta determine their standings in the 2013/4 Star Winter Series Presented by EFG. Buckingham figures he’s got as good a chance at anyone. “It’s always good to see a few weaknesses on the other guys, and we’re looking forward to the next event in a few weeks,” he said.

The second event of the 2013/14 Star Winter Series Presented By EFG is the Commodore’s Cup/District 20 Champs on December 14-15.
