Three-alarm fire at Eastern Yacht Club

Published on June 15th, 2014

The Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead, MA suffered a damaging three-alarm fire shortly before midnight on Thursday, June 12. The rapid response of the Marblehead Fire Department helped to avoid injuries and protect all historical artifacts, including Olympic Medals and 100+ year old trophies. With damage limited to the Clubhouse, the Club membership is continuing to take advantage of the start of summer. Racing was in full swing on Saturday with five one design classes racing on two lines. The Marblehead Team Race on June 21-22 remains on schedule along with an active summer of sailing.
