Scorched Annapolis Yacht Club could be torn down

Annapolis Yacht Club officials say they are leaning toward demolishing their fire-damaged headquarters, as this would make it easier to meet federal flood plain requirements. According to FEMA’s maps, the current building sits too low and could be at risk for flooding. To meet the federal recommendations for new and existing structures, the base of the building would have to be raised about 30 inches. Full report.
