Five wins at Cleveland (216) Regatta

Published on October 7th, 2018

The fourth annual Cleveland (216) Regatta hosted four one design fleets on October 6 and 7 in Cleveland, OH.

Three races on day one had a shifty breeze of 8-12 knots out of the Southwest, flat water and sunshine peeking through. But on the second day, unusual Cleveland fog prevailed and even with some breeze, there was no racing due to visibility. However, it did allow for fandom to watch the Browns pull off an OT win for the first time on a Sunday in two years.

The Nuts team led by Heidi Backus dominated the T10 division, Kevin Morgan on Wild Card (Rochester, NY) topped the J/70s, Jim Uhlir’s Trio was first in the J/105s, and Adam Gilbertson on Deuce won in the J/22 fleet.

The fifth annual Cleveland (216) Regatta will be held September 20-21, 2019 leading into the J/70 North American Championship on September 21-29, all being held at Edgewater Yacht Club.
