Fatality after fall from tall ship mast

Galveston, TX (February 5, 2022) – A 58-year-woman died today after falling from a mast on the 141-foot tall ship Elissa, the 1877 historic boat berthed at Galveston’s seaport museum. The woman, a volunteer working aboard the ship, fell from a height of about 60 feet and died at the scene. She was wearing a safety harness, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. – Full story
