It’s worth taking a moment to reflect on what it’s really all about. Yes, winning is fun. But competition plays a more important role than just massaging the ego of the victor. It inspires us all to do things well; to maintain our boats to a standard, to learn how to sail them effectively, and to know when to put the foot down and when to throttle back. But most importantly it gets us out of bed, and onto the water!
