On the road to Brazil 2026

Qualifiers continue for the 2026 SSL Gold Cup, described as the Football World Cup in Sailing, with the Grand Final to be held November 18 to December 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Held in the SSL47 One-Design, which is a modified RC44, the second edition features 66 national teams, some of which gain automatic entry based on their international ranking, while others compete in the qualifying series. Ultimate, the best 40 teams advance to the Grand Final.

Great Britain leads the SSL Nations Ranking, followed by USA with Italy in third. So far, 29 have qualified through the ranking system, while two more secured their places during the Asian Qualifier in Pattaya, Thailand.  Nine spots are still available and will be decided in the remaining qualification events. – Full report
