Scuttleball: Huskies or Aztecs?

The City of San Diego is renowned for its idyllic climate, 70 miles of pristine beaches, and a dazzling array of world-class family attractions. What it’s not known for is Men’s College Basketball, yet the San Diego State University Aztecs will be competing for the NCAA National Championship title.

If you live in San Diego, you either attended SDSU or know people that did. The town is lit. There’s been tons of SDSU love at the San Diego Padres home opener of the season. For the buzzer-beater shot that has them in the finals, the Padres stadium went wild.

Only one other team has won the title game in their first time, and that was University of Connecticut in 1999. The Aztecs will attempt to be the second school when they face a UConn team shooting for its 5th men’s basketball championship on April 3 in Houston, TX.

Everybody is expecting the Huskies to win, but nobody expected these two teams to be in the Final. The Aztecs are a 7-point underdog, but as Jim Carrey said in the movie Dumb and Dumber, “So you’re telling me there’s a chance?” Absolutely!

Buttons Padin and Chris Field picked UConn and are on top in the Scuttleball pool. Standing by for tip-off at 9:20pm ET.
