Scuttleball 2020 is cancelled

Published on March 12th, 2020

(March 12, 2020) – The NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors today canceled the Division I men’s and women’s 2020 college basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships.

This decision, based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, also cancels the 32nd edition of Scuttleball, the annual occasion when sailors seek to satisfy their inner-jock by guessing, er, selecting the school which gets the last dance in the men’s tournament.

Scuttleball hosts Social Navigator and Scuttlebutt Sailing News, along with award sponsor Henri-Lloyd, had planned for today to be the launch party of this historic hoops bracket pool, but we will instead lament in how the only thing we were looking forward to in our entire lives is now gone (cue the music).

Is it spring yet?
