ISAF In-House Certification now recognized by IRC for sails

Published on February 24th, 2014

The IRC Rating Authority has published revised rules for the Endorsement of IRC certificates recognising sail measurement by ISAF In-House Certified (IHC) sail lofts. This change will apply from March 24, 2014 and recognises the convenience and reduced cost to owners buying new sails.

“We have recognised IHC for GBR Endorsed IRC certificates for the last 3 years and are very pleased with the system and the convenience for IRC owners,” said Mike Urwin, RORC Technical Director. “Now that sufficient sail lofts are ISAF recognised around the world, the IRC Technical Committee has decided to extend this internationally.”

There are already nearly 30 IHC recognised sail lofts worldwide, a figure which is expected to increase.
