Mobile App Launched for Quantum Key West Race Week

A mobile application is now live for 2016 Quantum Key West Race Week which will provide sailboat racing enthusiasts with all the most up-to-date news for the event scheduled on January 17-22.

This app will provide regatta participants and fans from afar with a single mobile platform for results, race reports, press releases, feature stories and the popular “Wags Walks the Docks” video interviews. By downloading the Quantum Key West Race Week 2016 app, followers can access the race website at www.yachtscoring.com, the official regatta Twitter feed, YouTube channel and Facebook page using their smart phone or tablet.

This app is a development of another app that the Storm Trysail Club debuted to critical acclaim at the 50th anniversary Block Island Race Week this past summer.

“Conceptually, we wanted a centralized hub to host all content related to race week,” said Storm Trysail Club’s Ed Cesare, co-creator of the app. “The Yacht Scoring portal is most important because it links to all of the official information for the event. All the social media links serve nicely to round out the app’s homepage with what competitors and their families and friends are doing. Most importantly, users can go to the individual links and then get seamlessly back to the app’s homepage.”

“We have decided to build upon the success of the app that we rolled out for Block Island Race Week 2015. With further development, we have created a great platform for both racers and fans alike to get up-to-the-minute race information, pictures and video right on their smart phone or tablet,” Storm Trysail Club commodore Lee Reichart said. “This state-of-the-art app allows competitors and Quantum Key West Race Week followers to have a central location to access results and everything else available on the regatta website.”

The official Quantum Key West Race Week app, suitable for use with IOS and Android operating systems, is currently live at Google Play and available at the App Store.
