2016-04-29_11-46-01Kingston, ON (April 29, 2016) – Sail Canada announced today that Executive Director Paddy Boyd has given notice that he will step down from his position on May 27th. A process to appoint his successor is now underway and Sail Canada expects to have an appointment made by the end of the summer.

“We sincerely appreciate Paddy’s significant service to our organization over the past six and a half years and we wish him well as he moves to the next phase of his career,” commented Todd Irving, President of Sail Canada. “During Paddy’s tenure, he brought stability to the organization and its finances and has created a more collegial and collaborative environment among staff and volunteers. Paddy has worked hard to strengthen Sail Canada’s role and presence both internationally and within Canada, improving relationships and communications with key stakeholders.”

“I have completed two enjoyable contract terms with Sail Canada, but now look forward to continuing my career in Ireland where my family are based,” said Boyd. “I am leaving Sail Canada as an organization with a solid financial base, great staff and volunteers and good governance. I wish the board and my colleagues every success in the future. I am pleased to be part of an orderly transition to the new leadership.”

The Board’s Governance Committee has begun the process of search and recruitment of a new Executive Director.
