2018 Boat of the Year Winners

From nine nominees comes the winners of Sailing World magazine’s 2018 Boat of the Year awards, the sailing industry’s premier program for recognizing the best new sailboat models in North America.

The winners were selected after a judging panel of sailmaker Chuck Allen, naval architect Greg Stewart, and boatbuilder Tom Rich reviewed the nominees at the U.S. Sailboat Show on October 5-9 in Annapolis, Md.

Nominees were judged on three basic criteria: design purpose, quality and performance. Four boats produced on all three counts, with one ultimately sailing away with the overall title.

2018 Winners:
Best One-Design: ClubSwan 50
Best Dinghy: UFO Foiler
Best Crossover: J/121
Best Multihull: HH 66
Overall Winner: HH 66
