2020 Block Island Race is cancelled

The 75th edition of Storm Trysail Club’s Block Island Race on Long Island Sound, originally scheduled in 2020 on May 22, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After being postponed to to June 19, which became available when the 2020 Newport Bermuda Race was cancelled, the Club does not feel that conditions next month will be such that it can responsibly hold a start.

Storm Trysail Club has been monitoring all of the available data and resources from Federal and State Governments, World Sailing, US Sailing, and other authorities, and made the decision to cancel the 2020 race due to a variety of health and safety, logistical, and practical factors
