Boston College leads Women’s Nationals

Annapolis, MD (May 19, 2021) – Light winds prevailed for the opening day of the 2021 College Women’s National Championship with ten races completed for the 18 teams. Twins Colleen O’Brien ’24 and Michaela O’Brien ’24 lead the Boston College Eagles in A Division, and combined with B Division teammates Libby Redmond ’24 and Katelyn McGauley ’24 in fourth, hold an overall lead of 27 points over the College of Charleston Cougars. Racing is in Collegiate Dinghy FJs and Z420s and concludes tomorrow with the final eight races.

Following the Women’s Nationals will be the Team Race National Championship on June 2-3 and the Coed National Championship on June 7-8.

Brown University will look to defend their 2019 title while Yale University and the College of Charleston are the defending Coed Team Racing and Fleet Racing Champions, respectively.
