New 40ft double handed record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has confirmed the establishment of a new 40 ft Outright 24 Hour Record. The Class40 Credit Mutuel, sailed doublehanded by skipper Ian Lipinski (FRA) and crew Ambrogio Beccana, covered a distance of 428.53 NM over 24 hours on July 5-6, 2021, with an average speed of 17.86 knots. The record was set whilst competing in the Les Sables-Horta-Les Sables yacht race. There is no previous 40ft record.
