BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival

The biggest international sporting event in the British Virgin begins this week with the 42nd BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival. Seventy-seven teams are entered, with racing to start on March 26 with the 37-mile Round Tortola Race for the Nanny Cay Cup. The Melges 32 INTAC set a new monohull record for the route in November 2012, with the Royal British Virgin Island Yacht Club team led by James Plaxton looking to better their record of 3 hours, 57 minutes and 36 seconds. – Full report
