PHOTO: This is no way to die

The sailing vessel, the “Star of Siam”, which departed from San Francisco Sept. 24th, and heading north to winter along the Columbia river near Portland, Or., entered the Port of Port Orford Oregon (Saturday, Sept. 28th) along the Oregon coast. The ‘skipper’, Roger, along with his brother, Mike, stopped for fuel. They soon realized that a huge Pacific Storm was upon them and they needed to take refuge.

So they anchored in the turbulent waters next to the fishing port. The crew and boat survived the first night. The 2nd day, the storm intensified and the seas were boiling. The anchor ropes snapped and the vessel ended up on the rocks of the beach. right there, the “Star of Siam” ended its sailing days. May she rest in peace. As reported on KVAL.com, which has additional photos.
