VIDEO: Vanguard 15 goes Hollywood (sort of)

If you’re looking for an active and competitive dinghy fleet in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Vanguard 15 would be one of the options. Vanguard 15 Fleet 53 is based at Treasure Island Sailing Center with active racing year around.

This strict one-design boat is exciting, yet easy for two people to race. The fleet attracts collegiate All-Americans to big-boat sailors looking for tighter action and more tactical situations. While most of their racing is in Treasure Island’s Clipper Cove, the fleet occasionally hits the road to various West Coast venues.

This video is from a road trip this year to Inverness Yacht Club (Inverness, CA) for the 2013 Vanguard 15 Fleet Championship. Some college students from San Francisco State University attended the event to use as a documentary for their film project.
