Multi 50 Arkema – Aquitaine Capsized in Transat Jacques Vabre

(November 10, 2013) – After the start on Nov. 7 of the Transat Jacques Vabre doublehanded race from Le Havre, France to Itajaí, Brazil, it was reported today that the Multi 50 trimaran Arkema – Aquitaine had capsized. The two French skippers, Lalou Roucayrol and Mayeul Riffet, are safe. The boat is 210 miles to the west of Cascais, Portugal. The 5460 mile race had attracted 44 teams, representing 12 countries, to compete in four different classes (Class 40, Open 60, Multi50, and MOD 70).
