PHOTO: Aerial surf session along the California coast

With a giant swell forecasted, American high performance skipper Howie Hamlin gassed up his helicopter in January and flew Surflne photographer Tom Cozad for an aerial surf session along the California coast.

After 13 air hours in 2 days, spanning 420 miles between Long Beach and San Francisco, Cozad scored 12,000 photos, of which 44 photos are published on Surfline.
