Great Party and Great Sailing in Puerto Rico

Published on April 30th, 2014

The Puerto Rico Heineken International Regatta (PRHIR) will be held from May 31 to June 1 at the Yacht Club in Palmas del Mar, Humacao. Two full days of pure competition between local and international sailors, with all funds collected donated to the local Federación de Vela (Sailing Federation) as part of the ongoing efforts to promote this sport in Puerto Rico.

“Heineken has always stood out for organizing legendary and important events for Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Heineken International Regatta is one of them. We are very proud to be here again supporting Sailing in the Island, a sport that requires much discipline and quality. We also benefit the tourism economy of the island, thanks to the use and visits to the Palmas del Mar facilities”, said Jolliam Berríos, Senior Brand Manager at Méndez & Co. and a member of the national sailing team.

Categories for PRHIR will include: CSA Spinnaker Racing, CSA Racer Cruiser, CSA Performance Cruiser, PHRF Jib & Main, PHRF Cruising, J-24 and IC-24. As in previous years, any visitors to the The Yacht Club will simultaneously enjoy the Puerto Rico International Dinghy Regatta (light sailing). This is a competition for the Hobie Cat 16, Optimist, Sunfish Open, Laser Radial, Laser Standard and 4.7 categories.
