Mexico Sailing Circuit concludes in Acapulco

Published on November 10th, 2014

There were eight regattas that were part of the Mexican Sailing Circuit (CMV) 2014, supported by the Mexican Sailing Federation (FMV) in conjunction with the relevant agencies for each event, which were conducted in different states of Mexico: Quintana Roo, Jalisco, Nayarit, State of Mexico, Guerrero and Veracruz.

By fostering the FMV during 2014, the Mexican Circuit Vela was attended by sailors from all over Mexico, fulfilling the goal set at the beginning of the year. The circuit came to an end with the COPA AARON SAENZ on November 8-9, a regatta of great tradition and history of 19 years and the most relevant in the state of Guerrero. This race started with only 10 boats in its first edition, with a significant growth over the years, to 166 boats in different classes: Optimist, Laser, Laser Radial, C420 and J70 in 2014.

The climate in this Acapulco closure of CMV was spectacular, reaching up to 18 knots, allowing each day to comply with race regulations established by the Technical Committee for the FIFA Aaron Saenz. The regatta weather was perfect for maximum enjoyment on the race course and sailing under the best conditions.

The National Circuit 2015 will aim to seek the internationalization of their regattas to attract more sailors. The level of competition in the Mexican Sailing Tour 2014 has reached a high level of competition for all sailors, fulfilling one of the goals of the Mexican Sailing Federation, to have a platform for future international championships in Mexico.
