Connecting the college with the community

Published on May 7th, 2015

College of Charleston hosts a summer racing series off their docks, allowing sailors of all skill sets ages and sizes to come out on Tuesday nights, pay $5.00 and sign a waiver to race any of their 420’s, Lasers, etc.

The opening of the 2015 summer series was on May 5, giving it a ‘Cinco de Mayo’ theme. Dockmaster Ned Goss and dog Zephyr were taking in the cash, and past US Sailing Coach of the Year Ryan Hamm and his wife Heather were the main race committee members and wore sombreros. Not sure if the monkey hat had a Mexican connection or a tequila connection (or both).
